this mornings CIT at the coalville academy, saw all 7 of the instructors arrive at 6.30, as Craig was delivering today it meant i could join in.
i as normal chose dozer as a partner mainly as i like hurting him, this mornings setion was all about partner stretching, so basically we stretched for 45 mins which really helped loosen me up as i have bin a little tight since Saturday,
as we were stretching we were going over safety issues and gender mix, arias that are being stretched etc.......

Back on the wagon
i was back on the training train today, 6.30 satart at coalville studio, on my own as dozer didn't show agen!
however i was not deturd, i started with a 1.5mile run on the track, then in the dojo for a light legsetion and a good stretch to losen up agen from sat,
after a boring day in a class room on a first aid instructor/aceser corse i also went for a quick 1.5mile run between clases too. where i picked up the pace and i started to feel good and there was plenty left in the tank,

Monday not much to report
still slightly hung over from sat in wales i didn't get back to training, however me and Craig did manage to get out leafleting for about a hour covering about 2 mile at a brisk pace dropping around 300 leaflets,
that was better than nothing, but i will be back training tomorrow morning at 6.30am with Dozer

Fight night
Saturday gone saw Team Stealth travel to Wales to take on the mighty ADMA, we departed from stealth coalville at about 2 pm, are first stop was in coalville to get surplus for the Trip (allot of beer) and although i was fighting i had to partake in just a couple of cheeky half's,
We arrived at the venue at about 6pm to be greeted By two old friends ADMA owner/chief instructor Rhidian Hains and my opponent for the evening Ryan Parry, after a bit of light banter we got things going, as normal at these events i ended up refereeing all night but it did mean the fights went smooth and fast, there was some good talent on show and every one in the crowd seamed to be enjoying the night
However when 9.30pm come things relay got going with the MAIN EVENT of the evening, Matt Smith (me) of team Stealth VS Ryan Parry of team ADMA, this is were the noise level in the room went up to rival the noise of a space shuttle take off, I'd like to say it was for me but i think the 100 or so welsh people may have bin shouting for Ryan, The 30 stealth supporters didn't do bad though
we guard the crowd up even more be for the first bell, with a little bit of show boating Ryan did a trick, then i did one and this went one for a will but in the end he had more tricks than me (lol)
when the fight started i was relay up for it and the first round went fast and was pretty even with only two points in it, the second round however went slightly to Ryan pulling away by another couple of points, and that's wen it all went wrong the crowd wanted an extra round and Craig as referee obliged, but at this point my tank was empty and i couldn't even tell you what happened in the last round but we were both still standing,
Although Ryan won I was pleased with how i fought scoring some good points and a good couple of axe's in particular, i can tell how much i have improved since last time we fort 2 years ago when i couldn't touch him, all is not lost the may be third time Lucky when ADMA come to us in four weeks four our fight night and i get a third re-match with Ryan.
so i have four weeks to get rid of some of the extra 20kg i carry over Ryan and who No's it might be a different story!!
all in all the night was grate and when i got to the bar at 9.45 it got better. lol

Easy mornning
this morning squad training session was quite a light on i want off with Kieran to drill some basic things for tomorrow nights fight night in wales, after we had done the basics and they were looking good, we moved on st some crowd pleasing stuff that will look good and entertain, i will be fighting Ryan Pary a old friend who is a cracking fighter, we both said it should be a crowd pleaser as it is the main event so lets get flashy!!
so all in all a nice light session with no running today as i need to be nice and loose for tomorrow!

Finnish with a flurish
after i tort my Thursday classes (Ladies only, Jedi BBC, Adult Martial arts & Adult BBC) which all focused on using momentum like i described in yesterday mornings entry (CIT) classes were a slower more teck based than yesterday but enjoyable none the less.
In the last class which was point, i joined in as normal, to night i was focusing on my projection, which is also improving, i scored quite a fue good attacking kicks, but i saved the best till last as in my last fight against Dozer, i landed the sweetest of axe kicks on his big fat head that made a sound that could of coursed a avalanche in Sweden!!!!

What mornnig is it today?
If I've not stated already I'm not a morning person,
i arrived at Stealth coalville at 6.30am as always to meat Steve Stealth Barwell's head instructor (also training for his second Dan) however Dozer was no where to be Sean, then agen you can't quite see McDonald's from the dojo!
We started with some slow blitzes on bob to get the blood punping, then moved on to each other I'd B/F Steve for five mins and he'd work on his defence then we'd swap it over, Steve was focusing on a fall away side kick and all though my B/F is still slow at the min (i put this down to being to heavy) he got me with a fue good shots. I however were still working with this GKD pack down, and not blowing my own trumpet i am now bloody proficient with it think i only took 1 hit all morning, (an Steve if fast) so when it comes to guys my own Wait it should be easy to use, how ever i think ill keep drilling it for a fue more weeks,
At 7 Steve had to leave for work, so i moved on to a little leg work on bob, just throwing double and triple kicks and i must say i was surprised how far and how fast i was moving, (there's still fight in this dog) not quite a gray hound yet but getting there.
to Finnish off i thought I'd treat my self to a quick 2 laps round the stealth track (1 mile)
I've defiantly sorted my 1 pack out the other 5 are on there way!!!!!!!

Today round 2 and 3
This afternoon saw a fast 300 leaflets delivered by me and Craig only took 30min as we were moving at quit a pace (covered about a mile) that's a fue more calories gone
Tonight's classes were really high energy, i used the fitness based class that i described in this mornings entry for all the classes (ninja's, Jedi's, Ladies only disco kickboxing and Adult beginners martial arts) worked really well every one was knackered, TOP RESULT!!!
Then the sparing class was just based around a line drill front man choosing one defence to work on and the line throwing blitz B/F, this class i couldn't help joining in my B/F was not the best tonight, how ever i am pleased how my pack (GKD) defence is coming on i seem to be collapsing every ones frame who try's to blitz me leaving me a easy shot!! we finished with 15 mins light sparing, didn't want any injury's as most of us are fighting in wales on Saturday night!

Class two - martial arts based, using momentum something as a big guy myself i find very useful as it dose not sap to much energy, three tequnikes that involved spinning the body in the same direction by 540 degree, Example, rear R/H, Spinning Hook, Rear leg front ground sweep, i went over 5 variation that the instructors could teach in class this week,
To Finnish off when every one had gone i went for a quick mile and half run, this is almost getting to be a habit!!

Lets get up early for a change
this morning training setion sour me team up with steve clwes Stealth Barwells head instructor how is also training for his second dan at the same time as myself & Richard "Dozer" Clark also a instructor at barwell, we all met up at the Coalville Academy as it is closest at 6.30am to kick start the day,
We started off with a 1 mile run around the stealth test track to wake us up and get warm (it was minus 1)
Then we moved in to the gym to work some basics for 30mins, we got a line drill going just working back fist, just changing at the front every couple of mins, while the person at the front was working on hand counters,
i personally am favoring one that i adapted from the GQD Seminar i did last week tort by Koglan Wan, you basically step in to the B/F using your lead hand pack the attackers elbow right in to the belly completely collapsing there frame, leaving them no where to go, and leaving you with an easy high reverse to the head, I've bin drilling this for about a week now and i am getting quite good with it!! (it is a fat man tech as i call it as you make your opponent do all the work) that's probably why I'm good at it.
topped the morning off with 25 fast press ups!

What a good by i am!
as i dont teach on a monday after all the classes had gone in and i had finnished the never ending stream of paper work that is involved in runing a full time martial arts centre.
i decided to get a sneeky run in, just a quick one an half miles round the Stealth testting track, felt quite easy, but there was plenty left in the tank!!

Rise and shine
it all starts agen at stealth black belt academy coalville, another week another 6 straight 6am starts.
CIT - this morning was based around planning circuits and how to adapt them to work the body in different ways, then involved trying them out to see what works for classes
I did 30 moderate exercise mainly focusing on legs to get them kick started for the day

Boot Camp
After the tourcher i endured yesterday morning, i felt it was only fair to pass on some of my pain to the adults how attended the Saturday morning fitness class, it really was back to boot camp and i was the Sargent major
one hour of basic horrible exercises and lots of running of course, put together with my usual flamboyant style and piss taking, every one enjoyed the session,
They may not like me in the morning though when they can't lift there legs to get out of bed. hehehe
I am cruel

Up and atum!!
Another day Friday. another 6.30am squad training session at Stealth Coalville.
This morning was exceptionally evil there were 10 of us and if you weren't fighting in the middle aria you were running round the edge of the dojo, (2mins fighting, 8mins running none stop for the hole session) safe to say after the 15mins i wasn't pulling anything, i didn't care who was standing in front of me they were going to get hit and going to get hit hard (take no prisoners) all in all a good training session,
PS. Craig your not a very nice person!!!
Now its off home for an easy day, i deserve it!!!

Second Dan Brief
I've just been given my second dan brief by my brother Craig. over the next 10 months I will be training with different instructors around the country, learning new skills and recording them here for everyone to see. Then in December 2009 I will sit a formall testing at Stealth Black Belt Academy in Coalville. My grading panel will be made up of my brother Craig Smith, Mr Jason Charlesworth and Mr Darren Ellis.
This blogg will be used as evidence to show what I have trained, how I have trained, and when I have trained. Over the comming months it should pan out into a huge portfolio for everyone to look at.
Thank you for taking the time to read it and please add me to your watch list.
Cheers Matt
